Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in a Child

Introduction

This project examines the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in a child and its impact on communicative function. The introduction immediately explains and indicates that it is a behavior and emotional-volitional disorder. The result of which is that the person has difficulty concentrating, assiduity, retention of one or more instructions. It is essential to explain the basic features of the completed task, including the provided evidence, audience of weaknesses and strengths of writing.

The Evidence

The project reveals some examples of this kind of disorder in children. For instance, hyperactivity is associated with excessive physical movements, such as constant caprices, excessive talking and interrupted conversations. At the same time, the assignment indicates that this syndrome affects children’s communication abilities. In order to support the thesis that ADHD negatively impacts children’s communication and social interaction development, evidence was provided. For example, the paper indicated that kids could exhibit hostile behavior and react negatively to others’ viewpoints (DuPaul et al. 11). Thus, this impulsiveness during conversations does not permit full cooperative interaction with the surrounding peers. Further proof that children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder have communication disorders is that they use more vocal repetition and additional words. Consequently, they need more time to articulate their thoughts and explain. Although, kids who do not have this syndrome do not understand it, and they do not want to wait, which is why they are unwilling to communicate with children who have ADHD.

The project presents statistics to expose the connection between ADHD and its influence on communication. For instance, children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are three times more likely to have language delays and problems than those without ADHD (Erina et al. 6). Therefore, this indicates that the specified problem is serious and requires professional help. Accordingly, the assignment provides comprehensive measures and methods to enable students with ADHD to adapt to classroom interaction. The paper offers a technique that is termed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The appropriateness of this approach is that it focuses on the development of language abilities that medical remedies cannot treat. Accordingly, in my completed project, I presented evidence supporting the existence of problems in the development of speech and communication ability in children with ADHD.

The Audience

It is essential to emphasize that the target audience for this information is people who interact with children. Hence, in order for them to understand the behavior of kids with ADHD in the completed assignment, the reasons for impaired attention and behavior control in children facing inattention problems and hyperactivity syndrome are presented. After this aspect is explained with the evidence in the paper, methods that can be used to reduce the manifestations of the disease are provided. Indeed, this allows one to argue that the primary audience is adults who interact with children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. For example, educators in kindergartens and teachers in elementary schools have to assist kids in communication. Consequently, they need to understand the characteristics of children with ADHD.

Moreover, the proposed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy enables educators to use a reward system to reduce tension between children and promote connection. The proposal also indicates the possibility of creating special programs in schools aimed at fostering new patterns of thinking in children with ADHD. Thus, the written project not only explains the communication problems of the target audience of kids but also offers methods of resolving them.

The Effective Aspects

Significantly, the key elements of effective writing are consistency and accuracy of composition. The thesis statement is that ADHD disorder affects children’s social behavior and communication, but it is treatable through behavioral therapy and environmental organization. Accordingly, in the introduction and the first part of the assignment, I provided a characterization of ADHD. This allowed me to acquaint the target audience with the crucial specifics of the disorder in children and provide their main reasons. At the same time, I noted that there are strategies that clinicians and teachers can use to enhance the communication abilities of children with ADHD. Thus, it enables readers to understand the content and context of the assignment immediately.

It should be noted that I have concisely described the significant challenges faced by kids and educators who interact with children with ADHD. For example, delayed language acquisition due to brain damage causes incorrect responses and abnormalities in children’s speech function. After which, I observed that it negatively influences peer interactions because children do not understand the fundamental problems of contemporaries with ADHD. Additionally, concisely and consistently, I highlighted the role of teachers and medical personnel who should apply appropriate strategies to integrate kids with ADHD into society.

The Weaknesses of Writing

It appears to me that the lack of a practical research component is a disadvantage of the project. In order to investigate the effects of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder on children’s communication development, observation is necessary. This would have evaluated the reaction of peers to children with ADHD and indicated how practically teachers were using strategies to develop communication. Hence, it would permit an evaluation of their effectiveness and propose an alternative according to the outcome of the observation.

The Writing Process of the Project

It is essential to mention the process of writing the assignment; first, I chose a research topic and approved it. Then I analyzed the available sources to develop a thesis on which the completed project is based. This allowed me to create a research plan and write an approximate version of the project. Importantly, I made several more corrections to the completed assignment and reread it. This enabled me to find weaknesses in my writing and correct them. The last stage of writing the paper was grammar error-proofing and formatting the sources in MLA style. I found this process effective because I reviewed the existing literature pertaining to the research question and wrote a draft. After that, the process of reading the assignment permitted me to identify inaccuracies or mistakes by myself, which I was capable of editing. The last step was crucial to ensuring that the overall appearance of the paper conformed to the rules of academic writing and was free of grammatical errors. Therefore, the selected method was highly effective for accomplishing this assignment.

Conclusion

Therefore, the completed task is aimed at a specific audience, which is adults who interact with children with ADHD. It is significant to mention that the leading causes and symptoms of the disease in children are provided. This has allowed me to establish the impact of the disease on kids’ communication and concentration difficulties. At the same time, I explained the communication challenges that arise when children with ADHD interact with their peers. Accordingly, as a logical conclusion of the project, approaches and methods were presented to reduce the impact of the syndrome on children’s interactions.
